Hypancistrus L46, 15 years later...

Post by ElTofi »

Hi everyone,

just a few pictures of my "Xingu tank" of the living room... so focused for months on my leaks problems on the big inner pond that I never took time to give news of this "smaller" tank.

12 Moenkhausia heikoi
5 Baryancistrus xanthellus L81
16 Hypancistrus zebra F2
around 10 fry from at least 4 "wild" spawning...
and another one on going

I let them do the job alone from January 2019... this time, I stole the larvae from the father's care at day 4 after hatching... let's see if I can remember how to "raise" a batch of them...

quick shot from this morning...

one of the latest fry (hatched on January 5th 2020) decided to take the big bath and escaped from the suspended box where the 6 others still thrive and grow.

I though it was dead, eaten/washed by the melanoid, but no... I found it this morning, grasping the cave of one of its elders.

in comparison, you have a 2 years old male on the cave, behind it.
