Corydoras aeneus or melanotaenia?

Post by blackwind6 »

Hi, this is one of my older females, I purchased some as "green-gold" and back 10+ years ago this one was bought along with a handful of others as just a green corydora. Is it aeneus or melanotaenia?

Hi blackwind6,

Welcome to PlanetCatfish! Your corys look like , not . The green-gold corys have an elongate body compared to aeneus, and green-golds have lemon-yellow colored fins (especially the tail) - almost a neon color (e.g., here: https://www.planetcatfish.com/common/im ... e_id=20894)

Cheers, Eric
