This guy has been at my lfs for a while. I looked through the Synodontis list and can't decide which one is correct.

Not ID friendly photos, nor do I know the recent additions to the syno genus but it does look like a notatus. It appears they have just one spot right in that place on the body when younger and tend to develop several more spots as they age.

There's also 2 or 3 spots on the caudal peduncle.

Good eye, Eric. Thank you. I think these two spots on the peduncle are also quite typical of the genuine notatus.
