Dream Bagrid

Post by Shane »

After an awesome weekend at Catcon, @Jools and I continued sorting through 65 pounds (!) of scientific descriptions sent to us by @Lee Finley (more on that later) Jools and I hit a couple of fish stores and I hit the jackpot. A pair of ! Even better, they had been housed together in a 30 gallon tank in the shop for 8 months and neither fish had so much as a scratch. The store had done the hard work of finding a compatible pair and conditioning them.
The male is the larger, more yellow, fish. Unsure if the coloration differences are independent or related to sex.

We hit some LFSs in the area (first time I've seen $25 for one black ruby barb!) but the best one, by far, was Londontowne Tropicals. This is who had the dream fish!

Cheers,

Jools

I would've thought your dream bagrid is . Posts on social media indicate that juveniles have been caught and exported.
