I am not certain, as your fish maybe has a bit of growing to do, but I'm leaning towards you fish being the new species. Check out Mikrogeophagus maculicauda and Mikrogeophagus altispinosus.

My Bolivian is full grown, I've had him well over 1.5 years now and he has not grown past the 2.5"-3" he's at now.

I don't know where the store got him from, but I do know their rams are also expensive lol I paid $17 for him.

For all I know he's a hybrid.

I'd say a standard, but very nicely coloured male Bolivian Ram. Looking at the reply from jams in this post, the male in the comparison photo is similar to yours. Is your 2.5"-3" total length (including tail)?
