Synodontis decorus?

Post by bekateen »

Hi all,

I saw these at my LFS, being sold as Synodontis decorus. Are these hybrids?

Cheers,
Eric

Hard to say when they are that small, probably commercially bred S. decorus.

IIRC there is well known and versed, longtime syno breeder in Alberta, Canada who supplies local stores. RD from the MFK (and here) knows him. Do you? Maybe these are from him. They are too small to ID for me too.

Thanks Viktor. I don't know the source. The lfs does order from Petra Aqua in the Czech Republic, so that opens a door of concern of hybrids, but, to be clear, I don't know if these fish came from Petra Aqua. This LFS orders from a wide variety of suppliers.

Cheers, Eric

Bear in mind too that not all Synos that are commercially bred are hybrids.
