Succesful l253 raising

Post by Marcopleco »

Following on from the breeding report i published.

Between days 12 and day 17 i lost around 20 fry. All started with the same symptoms which i have seen in other fry. Where the stomach/yolk begins to swell. The fish become a loner from the pack and occasionally dart irratically.

I keep plenty of cattappa leaves in with the fry at all times as i presume this is a bacterial issue. But it may something else i am just going off intuition.

Now on day 22 they all seem to be doing very very well.

All feeding on the cattappa, hikari algae wafers and hikari first bites.

A rough count leaves me with 250-300 fry which im amazed with from their first spawn.

Sorry to everyone who has me on facebook as you must be getting sick of seeing them. Lol

Also the male has been caving alot over the past week. The female is starting to look quite gravid and i have seen the odd trapping mark on her as i did before. :)

So fingers crossed!

I know this is a few years old now, but I completely missed this post. So, well done on the spawning! What happened next?

Cheers,

Jools
