Cool,
Previously Listed Catfish.
Time to venture forth and give Margaret Thatcher a piece of mind - I have never been exported out of South America alive and I am the rarest in all my genus. I am not in the cat-elog but I will be added once I've been guessed.

Statistically, there are fewer catfishes not in the cat-elog than in it...

I think it's
Thatchella ironladia - even if that isn't really the right answer, it sort of matches ;)

The
USS Catfish (SS339), 1944
It fits.. (Honest!)
Boat was sold to Argentina, renamed
ARA Santa Fe (S-21). 1971
Fe = Iron,
Ships are female => "iron lady"
Never exported alive from S.America: Was captured & destroyed by Royal Navy, S. Georgia, 1982.

Wild guess:
Bergiaria platana. Looks like the blue pimelodids you have? Btw: you tell them you didn't tell me if this is correct

Time to venture forth
- In reference to the fourth album by
and give Margaret Thatcher a piece of mind
- Iron Maiden which is called Piece of Mind and the second track is called Revelations.
I have never been exported out of South America alive
- It's a fossil..
and I am the rarest in all my genus. I am not in the cat-elog but I will be added once I've been guessed.
- So I will add along with Synodontis xiphias...

Nope, I have no idea about the pims,
Bergiaria platana has a triangular adipose, my mystery pims do not.

Doh!..Iron Maiden.. I didn't make that connection.
Previously Listed Catfish
Nigel Tufnel might say of the
new fish:
"It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black."

..........
- Iron Maiden which is called Piece of Mind and the second track is called Revelations.
Iron Madtom did not clue into Jools using her favourite band or even gave credit for knowing that much about Iron Maiden. Jools has serious brownie points and Iron Madtom should be shamed..I still have every speck of Maiden stuff including the 45 of them when they played our tiny 2500 seat arena.....
Okay, onto the fish!

Good idea, but not that one either.

iii) A song with an English lyric, from a German opera, performed variously by Lotte Lenya, Jim Morrison & David Bowie.

You got it Marc
Black fish, funereal name. (If there's one "more black" I haven't seen it).
"Sweet Home Alabama", Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Alabama-Song" Bertolt Brecht/Kurt Weill.
Next!

Neil Young also had a song called Alabama (Harvest album).
Anyway, despite all the lovely musical clues we'll return to animals.
1) That's odd, I've got 2 common names. One refers to an insect and the other to a whale. How can I be tiny and huge at the same time?

However, the answer is correct
