Maybe.. At least it didn't require knowing the names of (really) obscure bands ^W Artists or contain toothpaste references

Give me a bit to concoct a new one...

OK..

i) At first glance, I might be mistaken for a skinny Loricariid, but I'm not from South America.
ii) My species name is an anagram (sorry Marc) of what was claimed to be the first electronic general purpose computer.
iii) I was described 8 years after the computer in question was announced to the world.

Looks (to my inexpert eye) vaguely like a Rineloricaria.
The first general purpose electronic computer was ENIAC. (but Germans and Brits often like to argue otherwise ;-) )

Part of my Genus name is common with "Wels Catfish".

I share my species name with two other catfish.

Oh you're so patient but this is just not happening! Can't find 2 matches for any of them.
Here's my list:
Ituglanis amazonicus also B. amazonicus
Ituglanis metae also cory metae

Stauroglanis gouldingi also Helogenes gouldingi
Sarcoglanis simplex also Tatia simplex

I flipped ALL the pages and still can't find a second species match.
Something is flying over my head - gimme another hint and I'll narrow it down or start again

One of them is correct!

You can search Fishbase using just the species name

Quick, I've got to get to work!

Edit...Just saw the second catfish with the same species name is not in the Cat-elog!

You can search the Cat-eLog for species name too - in the main Cat-eLog page, the third item on the right of the page is a "Genus/Species" search where you can choose "contains" with an empty genus, and it will give you a list of all the species matching the species name of any genus (and of course, all species in a genus, if you want to do it that way, along with various other things like you can in fishbase).

I hadn't noticed that feature as I always use the drop down menu!

Same here, what a time saver!

Previously Listed Catfish

New fish before I run out the door to work:

1) I am very small
2) I have a common name that can be both soft and painful.
3) I am a colourful catfish
4) I have many, many keepers

Should be guessed correctly when I get home, eh?

Hmm, my 'easy' ones get nowhere and my 'Hard" ones are guessed by you guys before I finish typing :? I sometimes suck at this
1) I am very small
2) I have a common name that can be both soft and painful.
3) I am a colourful catfish
4) I have many, many keepers
New clues:
5) I'm a very popular catfish for beginners and experts alike.
6) My colouring is responsible for my common name....
7) I'm the more readily available of the two...

List of previous species

New species: I like a higher pH than 8 and I look a bit like what some east Londoners might consider a fishy delicacy.
