Re: What Can It Eat?

Well, the correct diet and suitable foods obviously depend on the species. For example, lions have a intestinal system that works really well on eating mostly "steak", but us humans don't, and feeding steak to a cow or horse would probably not be a particularly great idea [which makes one wonder why they used to produce cattle-feed with ground up sheep in it and causing Mad Cow Disease in the process].SOBERKITTY wrote:Wow something else I'll have to try when I have some finances. I try to remember to keep it in line w/ common sense. While a nice steak can be healthy you wouldn't want to eat it as more then 30% of your diet. Thats a lot of unhealthy fat in there! Same thing can go for "rich" fish food from what i've been told. Also I've noticed a change in my fishes diet can cause a change in elimination just like w/ people. So I try to make sure there is significant fiber on hand after I give them anything new just in case it "binds" them.
Likewise for fishy foods - the right food for the right fish.
