I think it was the water.

I'm very disappointed.... It went from an awesome breeding to a total failure in just 24 hours :-(

If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it......
And you are 75% there, and have learnt some things, so not a total failure.....
I think they will be spawning for the next 4 months, so you will get another chance.
I only ever saw about 12 hatched eggs from a spawn, so perhaps they have a high non survival rate?
Just about to start my 8 hour water change, so I will have sent you some information and thoughts when you get up tomorrow morning.
Cheers

Geoff

Hi Jac & Geoff, we met during last L-days :-H

Very sad news, sorry for that. I guess you have acheived the most difficult step with success. Just keep your dream and with all the success you got during the last years, I'm sure you will do it! I'm still waiting for my first spawn after 3 years.

This phenomena is not an exclusivity of the loris, I will be very interested to have a clear answer.

Hi Jac,

that's great! Wanted to tell you that I recently bought a group of eight of these to supplement my 2 males:) They're still in quarantaine right now, and quite small (4-7cm). Curious to see how things progress this time. Good luck!

true, thanks for that! are your l239 not up for some romance right now? mine are growing nicely, and I have been fortunate enough to have gotten all 8 of them through quarantaine. Do yours eat a lot of wood? My two adults appear to be shredding as if they were panaque's, but it might also be the p. maccus in the tank.. I find a lot of info on their diet to be contradictory, so far they appear to be happy on a bit of everything though ;-) Good luck with any further tries with them!
