Thanks Eric..... I hate the MTS snails too. I take them out by the thousands every week. I did find a good use for them. My chickens love them....

MTS stands for Malaysian trumpet snails. Water is as follows.... PH-7.2, GH-7, KH-5, TDS~125ppm and temp 25c. I have a air driven sponge filter and a air stone in the fry tank...… parent tank I have a air driven sponge filter and a small powerhead on a very large sponge filter.... the outlet of the power head is close to the surface to give the water more oxygen. I have never checked oxygen levels in the water... just always aerated well.

MTS can also mean Multy Tank Syndrome, a condition most of us have.
With regard to those snails, my experience is that any water will suffice. They can even survive a few days in wet sand

Yes, it is a very serous disease that a lot of us have...… and the only way to cope with it is get more tanks. It is to late for me...…

Thank Jobro, they seem to be doing well and eating good. It is hard to judge exactly how much to feed them. I put some aged wood in their tank and some shrimp so they have something to eat and the shrimp will eat some leftovers.

Here is one of the L75 taken today.... next to some L309. Just put the L309's in this tank and lowered the fry saver so they can get out.... and one of the L75's decided to check them out.

The last few days the L75's have been courting... last night the male had the female in his cave and today there is eggs. Hopefully he is a better dad this time and takes care of the kids like he should!

Take care,

Hi Chuck,
Yeah dads suck sometimes. I feel the same about my Ancistrus that can't keep their eggs from fungusing. But there's no shame in egg tumblers either.
