Looking at the photos makes me think a biotope photo library would be handy on this forum rather than dotted all over the place on the site.

Wadaya think peoples?
It's easy for me to say that I know because I am not the one doing the hard work.

On topic I am seriously jealous of your experience and wish I could find some time to do this, which is ridiculous statement if you think about it.
One life don't waste it an all that.

We have been here for 10 days now. We have been far up in Rio Nanay and its side rivers. We have cought discus, scalare, apistos, hoplias, ancistrus, tetras, corrys, tetras and much-much more.We started with Rio Diamante.Where we found Apistogramma and a Crenicikla that may be new.We also got a lot of big Piranyas and big chicklides we eat.In a small side river to Rio Diamante we found "Yellow cat corys". Plenty of them. WE also found a nice Loricaria to Norman Behr.
I have still not get "O.White" to Ingo but we have 2 weeks more.
After Diamante we vent to Rio Taxja and cought A.Huascare and Agazissi.

Pictures will follow as we sort out uploading another day.

100% sure. We cought around 25 of different sizes. Unfortunately mine died in transit. They seem to be very sensitive.

Yesterday I arrived home with my fish. They are quarantined in 2x200 liter bb tanks with good filtration, aeration and a lot of wood. I am treating the fish with flubenol 15.

This is my list:
8 medium sized Panaque "shamper"
9 Very large L-204
6 Panaque "galaxias" Huallaga (very nice)
1 Chaetostoma sp. Huallaga
35 young Lasiancistrus sp. Huallaga
35 young Ancistrus sp. Huallaga
3 Cocliodon sp. Huallaga (not sure about species or genus)
4 loricaria sp. Rio Itaya
1 Hoplosternum sp. Rio Nanay
1 Peckoltia sp. Hullaga (L206 I maybe)
1 Large Pseudacanthicus sp. L25 (Tattoed across my back in Lima)

My camera is not working due to moisture damage, so it will be a while before I can photograph all the fish.

I will upload some photos from the trip this evening.

Tuesday 17/8-09

Our first and shortest expedition was along the road between Iquitos and Nauta.
Image

The first biotope we visited this day was a small clearwater stream 77 kilometers out of Iquitos.
It was somewhere around here +- a kilometre

Our catch: Id of the different species would be nice if anyone has a clue.

After collecting fish in the small forest stream we drove towards Iquitos to fish in a small pond alongside the road. Under the road there was a large drainpipe with bats. They weren`t happy to see us. In the pond we fished tetras and small Hoplias.
There are no pictures from the pond because my battery became empty in the batpipe.

The last biotope we visited on our way back to Iquitos was a rather muddy stream where we fished for something Alfredo called zebra peckoltia. It certainly seems to be Panaque changae. We have no pictures from this biotope.
