If I remember correctly, Brochis catfish are in their own genus because they have more rays in their dorsal fins than cories do, and the Brochis fish get larger. However, I don't know why cories and Aspidoras catfish are seperated. What is the official difference? I'm curious more than anything else, the question keeps bothering me.

From what I noticed, Aspidoras tends to have smaller heads and more elongated bodies than Corydoras.

Technically, Aspidoras is diagnosed by the possession of a supraoccipital fossa, an extremely reduced frontal fontanel, and by having the ossified portion of the pectoral- and dorsal-fin spines short (about half long as the first branched ray).
