Eheim external filter and UV units

Does anyone know if you can run equipment in the following setup -
Eheim 2128 external filter, with a Vecton 15UV unit on the outlet hose, before returning water to the tank? I've looked at the maximum output for the equipment, and the Vecton throughput is higher than the filter, so wouldn't be a problem there, but I did wonder if the UV unit would cause restrictions on the filter due to extra pressure.
thanks

it should be fine. I run a eheim unit with a co2 reactor and a uv filter on the return. It works awesome.

Judging by the facts given by TMC and Eheim, I would think that it's within reason to use the combo you suggest.
The Vecton UV 15 unit is designed to take 1300l/h. The Eheim 2128 (or 2228 or 2328) pumps up to 1050l/h, but from what I understand, the realistic number is more like 750l/h when it passes through the filter. That's roughly 60% of what the Vecton unit is designed to take.
I haven't used this combination, or any of it's components, so I'm just going by what the different web-sites say about the different products individually.
By the way, normally, the output from an Eheim filter goes through a spray-bar, which in itself causes a bit of a restriction and back-pressure to the pump.

thanks for the advice people
Judging but the fact that the whole setup is going to run a 350lt tank, and the 2128 is designed for tanks up to 600L, I don't think the pressure/flow loss will cause that much of a problem. All I was worried was that using the UV light at approx 60% would cause it damage, or that it would reduce too much flow from the filter.

I had trouble with anything in-line with the Eheim Pro 2 unit. It even said in the owner's manual I'd have problems. The pump becomes sluggish, etc. This surprised me. I tried to place the new in-line heater from Hydor, as per the directions. The filter was completely stressed. I tried a few different lengths of tubing. As soon as I took out the heater, it was fine.

Thanks, Whitepine! Now that I know the filter a little better, I'll give it another try. I'd like to get the heaters out of the tank. I also got 2 small Rio's running without bubbles (duckbill on a 1/2"pipe) in the lower levels. The Chaestoma and Oto's love it! I'm waiting for my new plants to arrive to replace the ones I killed with the Venturi....
