I am not sure what otto this is. This is the second time I have seen this particular otto. Any help would be great.

Just out of curiosity, why is Otocinclus sp. 3 considered separate from Otocinclus hoppei in the CatElog?

I was thinking Otocinclus macrospilus. I will try and get some better pictures.

O. hoppei didn't exist when I added them to the Cat-eLog, now the images are not the greatest and I am not 100% they ARE
.
I could be persuaded.

Oh, I wouldn't want that on my conscience...
As far as I can see
Otocinclus sp. 3 fits Schaeffers description and photos of
hoppei perfectly, but without having the fish in my hand and looking at it under a microscope I wouldn't dare say for sure.
No, the question was honest - I'm still trying to develop a feel for the species of
Otocinclus, and as I would've guessed
sp. 3 was
hoppei, so I was curious what character suggested it wasn't.

IMHO..
The Hoppeï and the sp3 are different as you can see on the pictures, the Hoppeïs have next to no spots on the head, the sp. 3 has dark spots on the head, top and top-side.
I just got these 3, handpicked from a tank full of 3 species of otos.. but what are they? Otocinclus mariae, macrospilus, sp3 or??
