Cory with a white spot

My cory has had a white spot on his nose for at least two or three weeks now. At first I thought maybe it was just from rubbing his nose on the gravel. So we kept the water real clean and just kept an eye on it. Well after a few days it started to look a bit fuzzy to me. So we started treating with pimafix. It lost some of it's fuzzy look but did not go away.

That was maybe a week ago.......now I noticed that he's become real inactive and has lost alot of weight. I am very concerned about him. He's just not himself.

Here are some pictures that I took today of him. Oh and his tank mates are neon tetras a pleco and another cory.

Thanks for your time and help.

It looks like your Cory might have injured its snout either by bashing into the glass or by something in the tank. The fungus you speak of is a secondary infection as a result of the injury.

So what should I do? It doesn't seem to be going away after using pimafix. Do I need to use melafix along with it? Is all that stuff safe for my neons?

You need to find a anti-fungal medecine that is safe for your cory's. Preferrably, you want to find another tank for the sick cory, so that you don't need to give medecine to a whole tank-full of other fish.

I don't know the name of a good anti-fungal medecine (I think methylene blue is sometimes used as an anti-fungal treatment), so I can't say on that. But your local fish shop SHOULD be able to advise you on that. If they can't, find another shop...

I treated with Pima Fix (it's supposed to treat fungus) and it didn't do any good. Now my other Cory has the same thing.

I'm going to get sand for the tank to avoid anymore damage but I can't seem to fully treat the spots they already have. :? I just don't know what else to do. :(
