I'm looking for print or web resources on the identification and aquarium husbandry of freshwater shrimp and crabs. So far I have only found the Aqualog <Shrimps, Crayfishes, and Crabs in the Freshwater Aquarium>. References to other reliable sources would be appreciated.

What genus of shrimps/crabs are you specifically looking at? A number of the nondescript freshwater crabs can only be reliably identified by male genitalia. The situation is even worse for shrimps, especially freshwater palaemonids.

I know of a forum where husbandry of freshwater crustaceans (mostly shrimp) are discussed. Contact me for details.

Just trying to get a preliminary understanding of the basic outlines of taxonomy and husbandry. It was quite fascinating to observe the ghost shrimp we collected in Virginia during the Catfish Convention. Have seen some interesting shrimp and crabs available on Asian and African exporters' lists, but haven't dared to acquire anything since I have no knowledge or experience in this area.

While lots of print and web resources are available for fish, insects, algae, you name it..., I haven't been able to find an authoritative layman's guide to FW shrimp and crabs.
