Hi, I have a couple questions about clown syno's, if anyone can help me out. I have the opportunity to pick up a free 6" s decorus from a friend, who is moving and needs to find him a new home. I would love to take him, but I want to be sure I can care for it properly. Currently I have a 125 gallon tank, which is home to 3 juvinile eartheaters, (S leucosticta), 1 18" pleco (liposarcas pardilis) and 12 congo tetras. My ph is 7.2, hardness of 8 dh, temp 78 f. I also have a 55 gallon which is currently home to 3 clown loaches, a group of corydoras trilineatus, and black phantom tetras. My first thought was to just put him in the 125, but I am a little concerened that the S. leucostictas and he might not get along. So I could move them to the 55, and put the clown loaches in the 125 w/ him instead (I was planning to move them there eventually anyway). I guess my question is, would it be possible to keep him with either of those mixes, and if so, which would be better for him? He is a gorgeous fish, and I want to provide him with the best home possible! Thanks for any advice!

provided you build up some caves or arrange some bogwood; he'll be fine in the 125. Satanoperca/Geophagus/Eartheaters usually are quite catfish-friendly.

a 55 is way too small; at 6" he is halfgrown.

Ok, thanks! I think my post was kind of confusing (I am excited, I guess!) I wasn't thiking of putting him in the 55, just I had heard that the clown loaches might be better companions for him, so thought of switching the loaches to the 125 w/ him, and placing the eartheaters in the 55 for now (they are still small and slow-growers, so would be ok there for now. Anyway, I will be sure to add some rock work for him this weekend. Thanks!
