Not to be contrary, but I really do think it looks like an adult colouration of an L204/flash pleco.

The Clown Pleco is often sold as a "Peckoltia", which is of course wrong, but that wouldn't be the only fish that is sold under a different name than it's REAL name.

I'd guess that the fish is a Clown pleco, but it's possible that it is . Clown pleco is more likely simply because they are a more commonly traded specie.

Check the links to the cat-elog in this post, and you should be able to tell which one you've got by comparing your fish to the pictures.

Either one of these need to have wood in the tank, that's what they eat! [Yes, they do eat other things too, but they need wood to keep their digestive tract going].

Young P. maccus (like the fish pictured above) have a pattern very similar to that of adult L 204. The original Aqualog photos showed all young P. maccus as they are so attractive. I could see how folks could confuse young P. maccus with L 204.
