A new acquisition. Too bad I'm not keeping it for long.

Whoa, nice! (He said, trivial posting to the hilt). Seen that large I can see ridges along the back - I've not noticed that before on any Glyptothorax.

Quite a number of Glyptothorax species have those ridges (just that those that do are never seen in the trade). These ridges are also sometimes visible in very emaciated fish (of species that don't normally show those ridges).

HH, why are you not keeping it long?
it's going to be exported or dipped in formaldehyde?

Well. I ain't no exporter, so...

the health of the fish has taken a decided turn for the worse:

too bad these things are so hard to keep or transport
because of oxygen or temperature issues most likely.

truly beautiful fish!

The fish was actually doing OK at the end of the photo session (albeit somewhat stunned). It would probably have survived in the aquarium for some time (though, given my previous experience with Glyptothorax, probably not very long).

However, it was worth much more to me dead than alive.

Your Glyptothorax is probably not an Indochinese species.

Any suggestions as I will need to correct the cat-elog.

Difficult at best without knowing exactly where it came from. It looks like an Indian species, G. pectinopterus being the closest I can get to.

Quote from the earlier thread
Checked today origin of import. There are two countrys from where aquarium wholesaler got shipments. One was Thailand and the other Singapore. To my knowledge Thailand is the only possibility for homeland of these Glyptothorax lampris.I`ll send tomorrow evening more pictures to Jools.
Hope that helps

Not by much, I would think, since both places are where a lot of fish from southern and eastern Asia are transshipped from.
