Hi,

Yesterday , I removed 18 babies from the males cave to add to the 2 that escaped from the cave earlier in the week.The tank was 55ltr and the ph measured today was 6.0.

What makes this even more interesting, is that after the L201 spawning, a pair of L046 Hypancistrus Zebra spawned 2 days later, in the same tank. Will remove the L046 babies from the cave, tomorrow or the day after.

I would be grateful if someone could confirm that the pictures above, are in fact of L201 Hypancistrus Inspector as these one have cream/gold spots. On another post there was a picture of a Hypancistrus with white spots that was identified as the same.

How old they are (L201)?..and How is its behavior among of the L'201? I mean in the same tank with the zebras.

I had 3 males and one female L201( which I bought 4 to 5 months ago) which were wild caught, in with some zebras and had no problem whatsoever.Unfortunately cannot tell you their age. If only I knew!!!!!
However when I put the female and one of the male L201 into a breeding tank which already had 2 pairs of zebras, the male L201 decided that he wanted the same cave that a male zebra was in, even though there were 4 caves in this tank.The next day, found that the male zebra had been severely bruised from what I believe is a fight for that cave. The zebra died 2 days later , from its injuries and a fungal infection, that I noticed too late .
The male L201 used the same cave for his brood.
Apart from that episode, I can see no aggression between the 2 species, during daylight hours !!!!.

Thanks, for the explanation.. and how ther are doing now?? are they alive?? How many..??? I'm concerning in this because I've a real couple of Hypancistrus inspector...but they don't do anything .. and I will be soo happy watching the scene.
