Got 6 of these guys from work last week. Appear to be doing very well in 15G tank with nice big eheim internal filter.

Hope to breed them at some point, i except its very similar to that of zebra plecs and other hypancistrus? Any tips welcome!

onto pics..

Read the article on spawning these guys. Also, Barbie has a really long topic on here. Go to the Forum Search and type L260. Go through all the pages and you will find them. I breed these guys. They have spawned once but it was unsuccessful. Just yesterday I posted for getting a mature male because my male wasn't wanting to spawn. So I did a 50% water change and he is now sitting in his cave with his tail out and shaking it back and forth. The females have started going between their cave and his. I would get a bigger tank. At least a 20 long, maybe a 3 footer.

Have you any pictures? Whenever my females leave the cave, the male is out shortly, and no more eggs.

I'll try. How long are yours. Mine are in the best color they can be. Yours appear a little stressed. That first one may be a female. If you post pictures of each I might be able to sex them. Would need close up of side and from above, then tell me the stomach color.

They do look stressed, but they've only been in for a week. They should color up soon. Also, I've found the belly coloration does not always work for me.

Yeah, I know, same here. But I was saying that after I look at the first 2 images and see what I think, then I use the stomach to convince me more or less. I also took some pictures of my QA's. Of my tank and 3 of them in PVC pipes. I will start a new thread on it.

Ideally yes I will get a bigger time but £££....

They will be fine in there for now, not planning to breed them just yet. They have a huuuuuge eheim internal filter in there so the water will be clean thats for sure.
