I just bought 2 Hemisorubim platyrhynchos (spotted shovelnose catfish) at the LFS and was wondering how big they get and the care and feeding of these fish. There is no information on the internet. I have them in a 220 gallon aquarium, which i hope should be enough space. As far as feeding I was planning a diet of freshwater shrimp, plankton, brine shrimp, feeder guppies.

...just wanted to say that I envy the fact that you can get hold of Hemisorubims. Don't know why, but they seem to be impossible to get hold of in Sweden. I've been looking for them for at least seven years, and since I started work in an LFS (about two years now) I've been asking the importers for them every chance I get... to no avail. :(

...and the same goes for Pimelodus ornatus, another on my most-wanted-list. Totally impossible to get hold of.

I have seen ornatus at stores here and have thought about buying some but i already have 2 pimelodus blochii that are fully grown at around 10 inches. i have had them both for about 8 years. i wish i could take decent aquarium photos so i could post pictures of my fish.
good luck in your search.
