Being stegophilines, this would be parasitic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the fish I saw on the pictures were Cetopsis spp.(?)
I'll correct myself: I was a few pics too high. Nice and rare fish. Behaviour I think more or less like Cetopsis, thus parasites.
