weird fish name

The pet store that i buy all of my fish from has these algae eaters that are strange looking,they are almost all silvery grey,and the top of their head seems to be pushed in>The name that they have on the glass is garri pinga algae eaters I might get one but I do not know how big they might get or possible aggressiveness toward the other fish.Thanks for any help with this and I appologise for no pic but that is in the near future

Garra are not catfish, but are algae-eating cyprinids. They are usually aggressive towards conspecifics, and sometimes towards other bottom dwellers. This aggressiveness is attenuated with a large tank.

I got four juvies in my 132G showtank and from time to time they beat the crap out of each other.

very well-behaved fish :roll: good thing all the cichlids and catfish in there are not impressed at all; I wanted a nasty algae-eater (easy going ones are terrorized) and boy, do I got one..... :shock:

good grazers, though!

There's a garra occasionally sold as Garra pingi pingi. Whether it actually IS Garra pingi pingi I do not know.
