I picked up two of these from the LFS on Saturday. I came to find out they are not real common which I find amazing because my LFS never has any unique fish. Either way here is a pic of one of them. They are roughly 2.75" long and are kept with my two 6" bichirs, 8" Synodontis Eupterus, and a couple of other community fish.

Can anyone verify 6" is the max they will get? I was kind of hoping for them to get to around 9".

Seems to be Amblydoras hancockii. Look in the Cat-elog, family Doradidae. The Cat-elog says: 150mm (6") SL.

Yep, it's a Amblydoras hancockii, oddly enough I figured out the scientific name before I knew it was a marbled raphael. Thanks to the cat-elog.

I guess I'm more so proud of my little fellows so figured I'd post a pic of them. :D

They are very nice catfishes. The ones I've kept weren't as nocturnal as some other Doradids (read Agamyxis). My Amblydoras were often seen laying around on top of the foliage of some Java fern and Java moss. Many other Doradids spend all the daytime hours crammed under some piece of driftwood.

Hope you will continue to enjoy the Doradids.
