Lophiobagrus asperispinus is not even a Lophiobagrus!

Since a while I'm amazed, blown away by the minute almost hairsplitting differences between newly named or wrongly labelled species in the catelog.

for example the many L numbers, the tiny Erethistidae, the differences between the numerous Corydoras species.....

In my "own" street: THIS is NO Lophiobagrus, let alone L asperispinis!

It's a Chrysichthys of some kind, my best guess......

L asperispinis should be -according to the original description- a minute fish with short whiskers and a rounded or truncate tailfin; there IS NO Lophiobagrus with a "V" shaped tailfin, nor is there any Lophiobagrus wich has this "Auchenoglanis-like" 'vacuumcleaner'-snout, or this size......

Better leave this particular species with NO picture in the catelog (until we get 1 wich IS the species), like for example Perrunichthys perruno wich also lacks a pic; than keeping this WRONG picture, because that's all we got.

Sid
