I was looking at the cat-eLog on Megalodoras uranoscopus. then I saw 2 photos highlighting the â??third eyeâ?

It's just especially prominent in this species (the pineal gland is usually not very prominent in most catfishes).

Did a search on the web,
Pineal Gland
The pineal gland of fish and amphibians is located near the skin and functions to detect light.
