Hi All

just found this, film footage, I know it has been in the news lately but for those who havnt seen it, here's a clip showing a squid 'carrying its eggs, around with it'
http://www.uri.edu/news/images/squidmovie_S2.mpg

The footage shows the squid (Gonatus onyx) transporting a tubular pouch containing 2000-3000 eggs in its arms and is believed to be the first known example of parental care in a squid species.
Footage: Rhode Island University

I saw a related article either in the Boston Globe or New York Times, too. Quite spectacular photography. I think the original article is in Nature. The footage may have been taken off of the coast of Monterray Bay in California, quite deep down. There were a before (full of eggs) and after (no eggs) photos. :D
