Hi

Has anyone had any experience breeding these pl*co's? If so what sort of tank setup etc do you recommend?

Any help appreciated

Kind Regards

There is a topic on these on a page back or 2. These have been bred in the aquaria, but there is no information on breeding them.

The tanksetup can be the same as for Hypancistrus species, LDA01/L169 first time spawn can be a little tricky but they benefits of a rain season for some weeks and when they have start to breed they will continue to spawn regulary as long the water are of good quality. I breed them in my tapwater (pH 7-8 and 300 µS) and for conditioning I give them pleco tablets and frozen Cyclops, females get ripped very easily and are willing to spawn as long the water are good, if not...no spawn or the male kick the eggs out.
1 male to 2-3 females is a good setup, if more then 1 male are used there must be enough females to occupy the males so not the second male that are without eggs start a fight with the one that guard a clutch...which are common.
