Looks like a red spot or gold spot (L001) to me. Someone more knowlldegeable will prob be able to tell you which exactly. Either way if it is I have found them to be very hardy, easy to feed (they eat about anything and compete well with other fish), but they do get very large (15" + ) and produce a huge amount of waste

No they are different fish.

Gold Spot(L001) and Red spot(L083) are what they are called in the LFS's here in New Zealand, not sure what common names are for them elsewhere

A clearer picture would help but from the pic you posted it looks more like an L001 than a Gibby

Here in Canada, the common name for L083 is a Sail Fin Pleco.

Sorry about the quality of the picture :cry:
I'm confident that he is a gold spot (L001)
