what tablets do you feed for carivious plecs?

Obviously, my article on Pleco's types of food doesn't talk much about "tablets", but it gives a number of ideas for food for plecos.

Whole mussels, or chopped bits of mussel works nicely for mine.

im looking for some kind of tablets either for omnivores or carnivores. anyone use any?

I find these Hikari carnivore pellets to be quite popular with all cats that aren't strictly vegetarian, there are many similar ones made by other companies.

Those carnivore pellets are very messy so I feed them only once a week or so, or as a reserve when I don't have live food or frozen bloodworms.

The regular hikari sinking wafers and even the algae wafers have a fair proportion of fish meal in them, 32% according to the nutritional info, and my Hypansistrus inspector have had them as a staple diet for a number of years.

will the new life spectrume sinking wafers do?

I never stick to one type. I like to give them a variety. They get Hikari sinking wafers, Nutrafin pellets, King British pellets, and of course, different frozen foods too. The only thing I look for in prepared foods is low levels of phosphorus so that it doesn't cause too much of a phosphate buildup in the tank.

I'm with Mindy - give them a variety.

Also, the so called "Algae wafers" are quite full of protein, so they are fine for meat-eating plecos too.

You didn't say what species this is for, that may help giving us a better idea of what you're looking for.

For omnivores, Tetra Bits/Prima works quite well too - although other fish may find that attractive too...
