I have 8 L262 in a 120 liter tank and I intend to breed them.
1. do you think the tank is sufficient for 8 L262 and 3 Bristlenose pleco as a cleaning team ?
2. I read that they need high oxigen levels. how can I know if the oxigen level in my tank is o.k.?
3. anyone knows how many eggs do they lay?
4. any more tips will be blessed

Hi.

I also have a group of five of these lovely fish that I intend to try to spawn when I can get a new tank running.
1. do you think the tank is sufficient for 8 L262 and 3 Bristlenose pl*co as a cleaning team ?
I would saw yes, as long as they are the only fish in the tank, and you provide loads of hiding places.

They are a very small "species", and one of the least aggressive plecs I have kept.

You could cut the lighting right back so you won't need the bristlenoses to eat algae.

2. I read that they need high oxigen levels. how can I know if the oxigen level in my tank is o.k.?
If you can provide an open tank with no covers this will help. Install the biggest air pump you can get, and have powerheads breaking the surface of the water with as much movement as possible. You will need very warm water 28C-30C, so oxygen is very important.
3. anyone knows how many eggs do they lay?

Don't know about the eggs, but it's probably similar to other Hypancistrus of a similar size.

Do a forum search http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/search.php for breeding Queen Arabesques (L260), as these fish come from the same river, and are very similar, so this is a good place to start.

A member on this site called Jon is trying to breed them, so he might be able to help more.
