Looks good and sounds good. What's that floating on the top - Water Lettuce? (Pistia stratiotes)

Some would say your tank is overstocked, but I'll reserve judgement. I know that the more plants and the more wood you have in a tank, the more fish you can have, too. The surface area for the biofilter goes up tremendously, and the discrete areas provide security and reduce aggression, stress, and competition. That makes the tank seem not quite so full.

It is pretty full, though! I'm sure some people will comment on that.

I have a 20 gallon long similar to yours in layout, but not quite as stocked.

7 Nannostomas beckfordi
3 Corydoras sodalis
1 Chaetostoma thomsoni
3 Poecilia reticulata "Endler's Livebearer" female
1 Poecilia reticulata "Endler's Livebearer" male
1 pair wild-caught Jordanella floridae

I'm using hardwoods in this tank, too, and that's working out great. I want to add a Banjo catfish, but can't find one right now.

Well Iwould say it does seem a bit overstocked that picture was taken about 2months ago and the water lettace on the surface has spread to completeley cover it I have a large fluval external and a fluval 3plus internal filter and an aquaclear powerhead for flow and additional filtration/aireation all my fish seem healthy I mostly concentrate on the pl*cos in the tank.
