I bought this catfish yesterday, they didn't know wich one it is, he could only tell me that it wouldn't get as big as most catfish.
I myself think it's a L002 Panaque sp.
Other people tell me its the L15 peckoltia vitatta, but the stripes on his head aren't matching.

If you look closely, you can see hair on him

So who can help me out, is it the L002??? or is it an other one.

(I'm sorry if my english is not to well, I'm dutch) :o Image

But those two are the same right?
anyway, that is what they say on the internet. :)
Thanks Janne

My copple Apistogramma Ramirezi put some eggs on a piece of wood, is it possible that this new catfish has eaten them overnight? By scraping over the wood or something?

I dont understand what you mean but LDA01/L169 is not the same as L002 if it's that you meant.

Looks like LDA01/L169 to me too.

These fish would most likely eat the eggs of a Apisto if they get the chance - although their primary food-source is wood, they would eat other stuff if available.

But of course, the Apisto's would eat their own eggs if they decided to give up on the project - which my Mikrogeophagus ramirezi has done more than once.

ok thanks a lot.
I think I got confused, thought I read that they were the same.
I've looked at so many pictures and websites, that I lost sight I guess...

So it is definately the LDA01 or otherwise known as L169?

This was the first time my ramirezi's had a nest, so I didn't think it would go well. They probably did do it themselves...too bad
