1] I've seen pic of orange L-24 in the recent Aqualife magazine [Japan]. There are also many pics of particulary reddish scarlet. Are such fish just premium individuals vs more normal ones? Or is there age/sex/location difference in coloration?

2] When L-24 grows up into adult would it be fine to keep a few together, and can they be kept long-term with sunshine pleco? Would they dominate the sunshine?

3] what is the max size of L-24? I had seen the size listed varies around from 30 to 50 cm

1. i think you just have a premium species when its more orange or red. Ive seen some very good species with pretty bright orange fins and nice brown body but you can also find them like this:


2. they can be kept with any kind of pleco but remember that bigger plecs will get very territorial and thus will dominate any smaller plecs. Big plecs could best be kept alone cuz they can cause a lot of stress on smaller species (ofc there are exceptions).

Thanks. So L-24 size is similar to leopardus and scarlet, and the orange-brown individuals is just a particularly nice ones. Then it is still bigger than sunshine so I think it is not a good idea to keep them together in the long run.

yup, its also a Pseudacanthicus so the same family. I have a few myself and you can keep them with other plecs when they are smaller. My smaller pseudas do well with the others but the bigger one is a bully. When they are really big, you should either keep them alone or have a huge tank with loads of hiding places.
