Hi all.

Last year I posted some pictures some Corydoras that some people thought were C. lambert and other thought to be C. ambiacus or even C-18.

They haven't grown since then (biggest one being 45 mm. SL and 56 mm. TL).

They were exported from Peru, but the actual place of capture remains unknown to me after trying really hard to get some info from the importer.

When viewed in a darker envirornment (their tank is shaded from the light beacuse they are extremely shy) they have the clear yellow patch behind the gills seen on pics of C-09 cf. lamberti, but I am unshure about the body pattern, as I've seen many varieties of C-09 on the internet lately.

For photos they were moved to another tank where they couldn't hide, or photographing them would have been impossible.

C.agassizii? The spots are larger....I'm not an expert. I just bought a book written by a few of them.

Let me talk with miguel, If he's seen them he can ask where they come from exactly. did you get a common name/sci name when you bought them?

No Waldo, I didn't get any names at all. At first they thought that they were labelled "Peru II", but that turned up to be an elegans type Cory.

Well, C-009 is what I've come to conclude myself...but in my own opinion C-009 and C. lamberti could well be the same fish. Until it's confirmed by science, C-009 is good enough for me though

Tried to keep them in a tank of their own since I got them and done weekly, twice weekly and everyday waterchanges with both rain and tapwater with no sign of them wanting to breed. Perhaps they are not mature, or they are an "impossible" species like agassizii and ambiacus.

I would also favour C. lamberti.

They look a lot like the C. lamberti in Seuss' book, although mine have slightly smaller spots on the body.

Mine has become a bit more stocky built since I took the pics...perhaps I should take som new ones...
