I have read alot regarding the lowering on temperature to induce spawning in cories. I understand that this is to simulate the coming of the rainy season and I am lucky enough to have Ians book which tells species specifics for temperature ranges and drops. The point i keep missing is how do you drop the temperature and for how long. I am guessing its not as simple as a single flush of cold water ? or is it ? Help please

Actually it is that simple. After you have conditioned the corys with feedings of live or frozen foods such as blood worms or whatever you have available you can do a substantial water change of more than 50%. Use cooler water, an 8 to 10 degree drop is fine. The corys will love it and hopefully they will start to spawn for you.

Eupterus,
As Mark pointed out, it is that simple. The heater or air temp in the fishroom will raise the tank's temp slowly back to its original temp overnight.
