Hoplo chasing away corys

Hey all~

I have a 10cm male hoplo in my 3ft tank. During feeding times, it sometimes chases away the 2 Brochis and few corys that inhabit the tank with him. He chases them away using his pectoral fins, and sort of brushing up against them. However, by using his pectoral fins, i assume there would be some damage to the other fish as the fins are VERY sharp and dangerous. But there don't seem to be any bleeding or wounds or anything.

Is this ok? How can i stop this behavior (if its possible!). Other inhabitants include 2 Dianema urostriata, 2 C. robinae, 1 C. arcuatus, 1 Brochis splendens and 1 B. britskii.

The other callichthyids should suffer little/no injuries because they are armored with all those bony plates. If this bothers you too much, move the hoplo to its own tank.

Male Hoplo's are slightly territorial, and he might get big enough to get into spawning age.
time to get a female, perhaps?

What species of Hoplo are we talking about?
