Need Help with Spotted BN Pleco

Just today I noticed my Spotted BN had some red at the base of her dorsal and tail fins. She was acting really weird, like she was weak and tired. I didn't like the look of her at all, so she is now in my Quarantine tank. I think maybe she has Hemorrhagic Septicemia. She's just sitting there, and when she moves, she has to fight to stay upright. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I really don't want to lose her. Thanks.
(If there is a hospital section, I couldn't find it, so if necessary you can move this there)

I should have posted this before, but was a little paniced. Anywho, here it is:
Nitrites: 0
Ammonia: 0
pH: 7
Fish: 5 corydoras, 4 zebra danios, 1 longfin blue danio, 1 BN Pleco (RIP Girlie
)
Planted
No obvious problems with any other fish. Just did a 25% water change 2 days ago.

What was the gh, kh and nitrates?

gH was 0, KH was 3, nitrates was around 5 I think. I'm thinking maybe the high nitrite spike made her weak, and it went from there. I had a high nitrite spike because of medications (dumb old me) about 2 or so weeks ago.

0 gh? What other fish do you have? That is very soft water. Kh is low also. Watch your ph that it doesn't crash due to the low gh and kh.

I'm sorry, my 6.5 year old 'chocolate albino' pardalis died last night. I believe he suffered the same things (red pectoral fins, swimming about when he normally hides, then at the end floating at the top belly-up, breathing hard). Fortunately it all happened very fast so he did not suffer too much, I hope

Yes, the gh and kh are very low, but I haven't run into any problems. I check all my water chemistry once a week. So I'm not worried about that. Thanks, though.
Sorry to hear that biomechmonster
. I really hope it was a one time thing. I blame the nitrtie spike I had a couple weeks ago.

No, it was dumb old ME! It was me who suggested the medication for you, but I trusted the manufacturer's claim, without doing enough research myself.
(Jungle "Parasite Clear Tank Buddies": claims to have no effect on filter critters, but contains acriflavine: an antibiotic. Doh!)

Yes, our water on Vancouver island/lower mainland is SUPER soft. Low to no readings on GH and KH are very common around here. Most people have to buffer their water to keep ph neutral here.
