Yesterday found what looks like a small red "polyp" the size of a bb
above the rear fin of my Catfish.
anyone know what this could be and how I can treat it?
thanks for any help!

UPDATE:
small red bump seemed to have fallen off!!
now is small white wound.
My guess is that it is an injury (blood blister?) from thrashing against something in the tank and looks like it is now healing. I will update if necessary. If anyone knows whats going on here please reply!
Anyone know if the standard colored gravel pebbles can be harsh to my Cats skin?
Should I be using sand instead of common colored gravel?

It may or may not help, but what is the ID of your cat?

wish I can upload a pic....
they should have an upload button on this site.
I dont have any server space to host a photo.
Wish I could though. I would love to know what I am dealing with here.
Not sure the breed. Looks a bit like a Cordydoras Leucomelos, Someone told me he is a 'SouthAmerican sharkcatfish' if there is such a thing. He is spotted and looks like the average catfish you would find in a petstore but he is huge.
he was 3 inches when we got him. He is now over a foot long and he is 3 years old.
We have him in a 50 gallon tank. he outgrew the 10 and the 30 gallon.
He lives alone because he ate or attacked anything we would put in there...
He is a great guy though.

thanks! you are very helpful.
I just tried to upload and my photos are too large.
