hi all
last weekend my local aquarist shop had a shipment of wild caught south americans.amongs them was a tankfull of c.shwartzi.i visit the shop regurlaly and so they let me have a look at quarantined new fish .the shwartzi were in a bad state very thin ,pale and most of them were dead. by all accounts some fish just dont travel well.i asked about them and was told that if i wanted any i could have them for free as they were not expected to live (they know i have a fish house and would keep them seperated).so i took 8 home and all are looking ok just still very thin.i feed frozen bloodworm, flake and catfish pellets.will they ever pull round and make good fish ?

Only time will tell... I bought some C-73 six months ago. They were also very skinny and I was doubtful wehter they would live through it. They did, and now they look very nice and healthy and are very active (although no breeding action yet).

Good luck.

hi all
sorry coryman but i cant seem to get the hang of getting a good pic.all mine turn out blurred and fuzzy or so far away you cant see the fish.i dont want to catch them and put them in a show tank either they are still very timid.i was hopeing for a breeders team but if i cant get them into condition i dont think ive much chance .i got 2 last year from the same shop from the same south american supplier.they did very well and the female keeps taking first at shows i first took them out to get them identified becouse the male had a very tall dorsal and all the judges agreed that they were indeed wild shwartzi .so this year i got in first and got first pick but as i said they were in very poor condition so i can only keep on trying .they are in my fishhouse now in a 2 foot tank in the corner nice and quiet .i will let you know if anything happens
