Hi
I have a 3" royal panaque but he hardly eats any algea. Is there another algea eating fish that could be kept with him (he only eats bogwood and occasionally a tiny bit of veg)
I know that they can be dodgy with other plecs.

I know my royal used to love spinach. How big is your aquarium? Ancistrus are very good at eating algae.

Hi!

I think the type of algae is important. Not all are eaten by fish afaik.

Hi Caol_ila is correct, not all algae are sutable for plecs. I know that green algae is not bad! But the bron or the low light one is... Um neil if your looking for a good algae eater, try to look for a common ancistrus they are heavily eaters of algae, L27, and or gibbys that are small around 2-6inches. Bec. wen the gibby reaches the size of 8inches it tends to eat pellets, shrimp, etc. Suddenly it loses interest in algae! :?
