as you may have seen, i've lately bought 2 Royals, one of them turned out to be a L190, because he had a "window" in his tail. well yesterday i looke at the other one, and i saw a very small "window". now here's my question:

do they develop the window, or is it there from the fry stadium. if they develop it, does it mean i have 2 L190 P. nigrolineatus(ses) or however you write it.

tnx in advance,

OEOTS

The "window" goes away as they mature.

so the one with the smaller window is supposed to be older, thats possible, only he is about a centimeter smaller then the on with the big window. perhaps he hasn't developed in the right way? or is it a deifferent species?

The size of the window varies by population from river to river but almost always disappears entirely at adulthood. Photos would be helpful.
