pH for Ancistrus

What pH values does Ancistrus prefer? I have a group of L-183 (I think) in a tank together with some Apistogramma mendezi. The pH in the tank are now 6.5, but the dwarf cichlids prefer a pH value down to 5 - 5.5. Is it possible to breed the Ancistrus in such acid water? I know it is possible to keep them in this pH value, because I?ve had them in a tank with pH 5 for more than one year while they were getting mature, but now they sould be mature, so I think it's time to breed them now. They aren't that hard to breed, are they?

Hi!

They might breed in such parameters, but you will surely face some hatching problem with the water being too soft and low in oxygen...
