Synonym authors?

When editing Cat-eLog entries, none of the Synonyms have authors. Is this because the author isn't in the database, or because it's not filled in on the editing page?

I've been adding authors, but I would prefer not to do so if it's already there... ;-)

Yes, I've noticed that too. However, all existing synonyms in the Synonyms list already have authors, so perhaps that is regarded as sufficient (?).
But (how) are new synonyms in the Cat-eLog linked to that list?
Jools, could you come up with a suggestion pls?

I think it is probably a mistake, it's my birthday weekend and work on the site is limited right now. I will look into it.

Thanks, I have a hangover and a fat belly. All good. :-)

The authors issue is fixed.

Thanks for the birthday regards. Aside from a few cosmetics the common name and synonym editing and addition features are online and working.

When you edit a data sheet, you will be given lists of existing synonyms and common names as well as one new line for a new entry. If you want to send more than one new common name or synonym, send multiple data submissions.

It works because along with the synonym or common name data, the page attaches an ID number (each synonym has its own ID number, as does each common name). When it comes to me vetting the page or updating the database, the software knows to update anything with an existing ID number or create a new ID and entry for something new.

Marc,

I know you have poted some new synonyms into the forum as we previous agreed, however it would be a good test of the new features if you could post these via the submission form.
