cheers guys for any help. Not sure it matters what sex it is but....it will good to know.

What size is this fish? Just like so many other fish, the size will influence how easy it is to see if it's a male or female, and it would be almost impossible to get an accurate guess if it's less than 6 inches in length.

Males get "hairy" pectorals when they are mature enough (which probably also depends on it's general health).
