In CLOFFSCA and Cat-eLog, Hemicetopsis is listed, but in FishBase, the genus is now merged with Cetopsis...

How do you know it was merged? I mean, could it be that it's not yet been split?

It might be so, but it seems unlikely to me: all Hemicetopsis became Cetopsis in 2005 (Vari, Ferraris & de Pinna). See CoF.

OK, so I need to move all Hemicetopsis back into Cetopsis.
Great.

Hi Jool and all.
Jools you might not want to move all Hemicetopsis back to Cetopsis just yet. Some of the Hemicetopsis are now placed in Cetopsis, but others are now in the genera Cetopsidium and Denticetopsis (Vari, Ferraris and de Pinna, 2005). If you need a listing let me know.

Hi Lee,
You're completely right. Thanks for being attentive!
Jools,
Here are the (new) names. I took them all not exactly knowing which species were in the CateLog and which not.
If you want I'll add them myself.

Cetopsis amphiloxa
Hemicetopsis candiru (Spix & Agassiz, 1829) is now Cetopsis candiru
Hemicetopsis macilentus Eigenmann, 1912 is now Denticetopsis macilenta
Hemicetopsis minutus Eigenmann, 1912 is now
Cetopsidium minutum
Hemicetopsis morenoi Fernández-Yépez, 1972 is now Cetopsidium morenoi
Hemicetopsis othonops Eigenmann, 1912 is now
Cetopsis othonops
Hemicetopsis plumbeus (Steindachner, 1882) is now Cetopsis plumbea
Hemicetopsis plumbeus motatanensis (Schultz, 1944) is now Cetopsis motatanensis
Hemicetopsis plumbeus orinoco (Schultz, 1944) is now Cetopsis orinoco

Jools,
I checked these and added a synonym and a general remark concerning
, the only one that should be changed.
I can't however change current
valid names in the data sheet.
