Hello catfish keepers :D

Iam setting up my new 450 ltr tank and have in it 8cm severums, 10cm accaras, doras over 10cm i also have a para plec L075 at 7.5 cm and a goldie plec L014 8cm. In a sepperate tank for two weeks waiting to be added i have two limas the largest at 11cm, have been feeding them lightly. i have been feeding up the main tank to get a bit more size out of the fish before i add the limas. does anyone know what size i would need to get the plecs too so that there safe with young limas. and does anyone know the lima growth rate is it fast or slow.

thanks for any help :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I would say that Lima's don't eat particularly large fish. I would think your fish are safe at the size they are now.

I don't know how fast they grow...

I can expand Mats' comment a little further: severums and acaras are too high for limas; your other cats are too spiny for them.
So they are safe now and will be in the future, not in the least because the limas will make no attempt trying to eat them. Growth rate (rather slow btw) doesn't matter in this case.

Thanks Mats and Marc for the great info :D, have added them about two hours ago and there doing great not shy at all, cruising around alot under the blue night lights and resting in thickets of java fern every so often.

Thanks again Ben :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
